How can I keep an ideal blood pressure?

The ideal blood pressure (120/80 mm Hg) comprises two figures, one is systolic, and the other one is diastolic. 120 mm Hg is the systolic pressure. On the other hand, 80 mm Hg is the diastolic pressure. You can consult with your doctor to know more about the same.

The top number (systolic pressure) should be more than 90 mm Hg and less than 120 mm Hg. On the other hand, the foot number (diastolic pressure) should be more than 60 mm Hg and less than 80 mm Hg. Therefore, you should understand that figures less than 120/80 mm Hg reflect low blood pressure (hypotension). Conversely, figures more than the normal blood pressure indicates high blood pressure (hypertension). It is wise to consult with your doctor if you have any of these conditions and they go out of your hands. He or she may help you manage your condition while prescribing suitable medications and lifestyle shifts.

Certain lifestyle shifts can lend you a hand in keeping ideal blood pressure. You can try doing the following-

  • Eat more salt if you have hypotension
  • Exercise regularly
  • Move gently if you have low blood pressure. You should rest and recover your condition
  • Reduce the intake of carbohydrate-rich food
  • Drink plenty of water
  • Eat a small portion of meals

Try implementing the pre-listed home remedies to manage your blood pressure. However, you can request your doctor for more lifestyle adjustments that may help you in the same concern. However, never mind seeking help in case of emergency.
